My name is Deborah but my friends sometimes call me Rain, Rainy or variations of the word. Which of course has to do with my love of the rain. I live in Payson, AZ, and I’m a quirky, passionate and loveable person. I am a mother of 3 adorable dogs! I have two chihuahua boys and one St. Bernard/Boxer mix. It is a unique combination but a hilarious one! They are often my models and have gotten used to the camera in front of mommy’s face.

I am also a destination wedding photographer and a lifestyle portrait photographer. I have been taking pictures since I was ten and my dad gave me my first SLR. I would practice studio work with my cats and rats. (yes I said rats) Then I grew up and decided to get into photography. I had some formal training but felt it was holding me back. So I went off on my own of discovery. This was when I decided that I was in love with wedding photography. This is the short version of how Life & Rain Photography came about.

I am a hopeless romantic that gets pulled into the wedding everytime. I will admit I usually shed a few tears at some point throughout the day. I feel the love and joy the day is and its my goal in life in that day to capture all the moments of love, tears and happiness. There is so much that goes into a wedding that a couple has gone over in detail for months in advanced. I love getting those little touches that make the wedding personal. I love everything about weddings!!

I do have a few other passions in life. I currently have property that allows me to have chickens and turkeys. I love pretending to be a farm girl. Which is quite a change from the city girl of Phoenix, AZ. My other loves of life besides rain is coffee and Paris. I have a million coffee cups that I have collected from around the world, and will eventually make a trip to Paris. And one of my dreams is to shoot a wedding in Paris.

Why did I pick the name Life & Rain Photography? First off, I wanted a name that I felt passionate about, including something I loved. I knew I couldn’t include coffee, Paris and Rain in the name so I had to pick my most favorite passion. It was the Rain. There is so much about rain that truly explains my photography. Rain is the essence of life, life is the essence of love, love is the essence of romance. I feel all of these go together and describes me. Describes me as a hopeless romantic. And thats what I am… an emotional hopeless romantic. Which is one reason I chose to make my career in wedding photography. You want to do something that you’re passionate about right?

I will admit now that I’m a Gemini and I always have some kind of project going as well a lot on the back burner. I have a blog dedicated to the many loves and projects I have going on.
